  • Counseling is a partnership between a client and a licensed professional to assist in resolving challenges associated with psychological, social, or personal challenges that may be affecting your activities of daily living. Through counseling the client not only gains an accountability partner but they are also able to accomplish goals, learn more about themselves, and see improvement in their health and relationships.

  • I offer individual, couples, and family counseling sessions.

  • A typical session lasts 50 minutes.

  • The frequency of your sessions is determined by your goals, current needs, and progression. Together we will work to assess your current needs and create a personalized treatment plan to address and measure your progress. Your treatment plan will outline the recommended number of sessions which can be adjusted over time as we address the goals of your plan.

  • Yes, it is.

    In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and therapist and no information will be disclosed without prior written permission from you.

    Unless there is an imminent danger to yourself or someone else, everything you share with me is completely confidential.

    The exceptions required by law to this rule are:

    • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse. I am required to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.

    • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person. I am required to notify the police.

    • If a client intends to harm himself or herself. Please know that I will make every effort to work with the client to ensure their safe however, if an individual does not cooperate, additional measures may need to be taken.

  • Your initial appointment can be scheduled after your consultation and each additional session will be scheduled after each session.

  • The most important part of your first session is to not only experience what therapy is like but to also determine if the therapeutic relationship is a good fit.

    Counseling sessions are like a free-flowing conversation between you and I, giving me an opportunity to learn more about you, your past history and present concerns. I would also encourage you to ask any questions regarding my knowledge or experience with your concerns and how future sessions are navigated.

    During this session we will begin to build a therapeutic bond, establishing trust and building rapport. My goal is to make sure you feel seen and heard during each interaction.

  • Counseling varies from client to client based on the reasoning for treatment. Oftentimes clients can resolve immediate challenges within 8 to 12 weeks while others may feel more supported by a longer term of therapy.

  • Counseling can help with many mental health and self-care needs such as anxiety, trauma, crisis management, depression, career transitions, conflict resolution, burnout prevention, communication, life adjustment, grief and loss, life skills coaching, and stress management.

  • Counseling would be very beneficial allowing you the opportunity to work through stressors associated with performance, work-life balance between you and your profession, you and your family, and you and yourself!

  • Absolutely, but they will be required to sign consent forms prior to participating, however, if it is determined that those sessions will continue for an extended period of time, we will transition to the appropriate type of session. (i.e. couples or family)

  • If at any time either you or I are uncomfortable or unsatisfied with services you have the right to discontinue services and a list of referrals will be provided or we can work together to resolve the issue.

  • Cauley Counseling Services requires a credit card from ALL clients to be on file in our secure online portal Simple Practice. We accept credit cards, debit cards, health savings accounts (HASA), or flexible spending accounts (FSA) cards (with Visa logo) as payment.

    If you need to change your card on file or use a different method of payment, please notify me prior to the start of your session.

  • No, I am not contracted with any insurance companies.

    I can offer a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement using your out-of-network benefits. If you have PPO insurance., to find out what your insurance may cover, call your insurance company and ask if you have out-of-network mental health coverage. HMO’s usually do not reimburse for providers who are not in network.

  • As an out-of-network provider, I maintain my commitment to confidentiality and allow you to drive the therapeutic process. What this means is that by seeing an out-of-network provider, you are not confined by the insurance company's parameters regarding mental health.

  • To find out what your insurance may cover, contact your insurance by calling the number on the back of your insurance card for the benefits department and ask if you have out of network mental health coverage. If you need to provide a “CPT code” or a “service code” please provide the following codes:

    • Individual therapy, Outpatient – CPT 90837

    • Couples/Family Therapy, Outpatient CPT 90847

    • My office zip code is 76006.

  • I have a 24-hour cancellation rescheduling fee policy. To cancel or reschedule for any reason make sure you give a 24 hours’ notice to avoid paying the late cancellation/late reschedule fee, which is the full session rate. If you no-show for your session you will be charged the full fee.
